Springfield College students work with community members with mental disabilities in a one-to-one friendship. Students not only develop long-lasting friendships, they truly make a difference in the lives of their buddies. For more information contact the Office of Student Activities at 748-3141
The mission and purpose of the Environmental Club is to make a difference for future generations of people, plants and animals to live, love and prosper. The club is currently focuses on raising awareness of issues concerning our world and promoting an on-campus recycling program. The Springfield College Habitat for Humanity Chapter works with the Greater Springfield Habitat affiliate to raise funds, build houses, and provide support to assist low-income individuals who live in substandard housing with owning their own home. A Catholic based student group focused on fellowship and service. The Newman Community participates in weekly service activities with a local soup kitchen and food pantry, as well as organizing two service trips each year. For more information, contact the Office of Spiritual Life at 748-3209
The Springfield College Outreach Committee (SCOC) offers an opportunity for Springfield College students to provide service while experiencing social injustice, specifically in terms of poverty and oppression. The group takes an annual trip during spring break. Past trips have served villages in Cuanna and Tepotzlan, Mexico; the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana; Long Islande, Bahamas. SAVE is a student organization that fosters awareness through the Springfield College community about different types of violence on college campuses and in society. for more information, contact the Office of Student Activities at 748-3141.
The Together Campaign is a student-led service club. One of their ongoing service projects includes serving meals at Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen. They also participate in an Alternative Break Trip focusing on youth outreach; they have volunteered in Jamaica and Guatemala in recent years.
