The president oversees Graduate Student Organization (GSO) activities and represents the graduate class within and outside of Springfield College. The president serves as chair of the GSO executive board and also acts as a spokesperson for the GSO in presentation of the organization’s positions and elucidation of policies. In addition, the president will prepare the incoming president-elect for transition to the leadership role of the GSO.
Vice President: Kate Fernandes - KFERNANDES@springfieldcollege.edu
The vice president assists the president in fulfilling all presidential duties and responsibilities. Experience gained from assisting the president allows the vice president to assume presidential duties in the absence of the president. In addition, the vice president is responsible for publishing the monthly GSO newsletter and assisting with GSO fundraising.
Secretary: Bryan Cayabyab - BCAYABYAB@springfieldcollege.edu
The secretary oversees all educational and social programming provided by the GSO. The secretary also oversees the programming committee to ensure that appropriate programming is planned and promoted. Together, the secretary and programming committee promote and plan all GSO events and maintain the GSO membership database
Treasurer: Cora Rowland - CROWLAND@springfieldcollege.edu
The treasurer works in cooperation with the Office of Student Activities and Campus Programs to manage all GSO financial transactions and conference reimbursements. A permanent record of GSO revenues and expenditures is kept by the treasurer. The treasurer is also responsible for the information and operation of the conference reimbursement committee.
Public Relations Coordinator: Lauren Bean - LBEAN@springfieldcollege.edu
The public relations coordinator is responsible for publicizing and promoting all GSO events to the graduate student body, as well as having an essential role in planning each event.
Commuter Relations Coordinator: Katie Ribeiro - KBIBEIRO@springfieldcollege.edu
The commuter relations coordinator is responsible for working to provide support from GSO to graduate students that commute to campus and live locally off campus.
Executive council members play an integral role in the development and direction of the GSO. Council member responsibilities include assisting in decision making and recording minutes from all executive board and general assembly meetings. As key components for the general assembly, council members are asked to head subcommittees and represent the GSO at various social and political events.
