Safety continues to be the highest priority of Springfield College. Throughout the summer, the College has been diligently working on safety measures for the campus community. The biggest improvement is an upgrade to a new and more robust emergency notification system through which the College’s Department of Public Safety can notify the campus community of an emergency, provide instructions on how to proceed, and announce when an emergency has ended. Not only will the new system relay emergency notifications to up to three cell phones, up to three personal email accounts, and/or three voice lines, it will also have the capability to facilitate faster notification distribution, granular group targeting, anonymous tip reporting via text, potential two-way texting with the Department of Public Safety staff, multiple language text and voice options, and enhanced administrative tools to assist emergency responders/law enforcement to name but a few of the features.
Springfield College has dynamically enrolled all active students, and faculty and staff members with basic information including their college email address to receive campus emergency notifications. Though accounts will be actively maintained and updated based on enrollment/employment status with the College, individuals are asked to log into their emergency notification account and add additional contact information as soon as possible. This will help to ensure the greatest potential to reach members of the Springfield College community in the event of an emergency, and allow individuals to familiarize themselves with the system.
While basic campus information will automatically be included, individuals must log in and edit their account to add critical information such as their cell phone number and other email addresses. Individuals should take the time now to provide or update their contact information with the new system. It is vital that Springfield College has the ability to contact community members with critical information regarding their health and safety as quickly as possible.
Students and faculty and staff members should use their PrideNET username and password to log into their Springfield College Alert Account.
