Resume and Cover Letter
Welcome to the resume/cover letter writing section of the Career Center site. Please use one of the links on the left to navigate through the helpful resources we provide. Please use the downloadable resources to the right to further help with the resume process.
The impact of job search correspondence cannot be understated. How you represent yourself on "paper" has a tremendous impact on your chances for being selected for an internship or job.
An effective resume and cover letter are likely to form a positive first impression to an employer, resulting in a competitive advantage. All correspondence develops an impression; even a brief email makes an impact. A timely and well-organized thank you letter following an interview can dramatically sway the employer's deliberations in your favor.
The Career Center recommends that you write a rough draft of your resume and cover letter (and other job search correspondence if necessary) and have one of the counselors critique it for you. The Career Center has an exceptional staff of professional counselors to assist in the development of your job search credentials. To schedule an appointment with a counselor in your area of specialization, please call (413) 748-3110 or (413) 748-3222.
Walk-ins are welcome without an appointment for quick questions or brief resume or cover letter critique, (first come first served basis) 2-3:00 p.m. weekdays and 5-6:00 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.
