Assistant Director of Campus Recreation (Fitness and Wellness)
Take a short break from your work and de-stress with a chair massage. Massage therapist Julie Donahue will provide fifteen-minute chair massages between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Wellness Center Resource Room on the following dates:
Reserve an appointment with Campus Recreation (x3468) by the Friday before each of the above dates. Participants may only register for the upcoming date.
The massage therapist will also be available on Tuesdays for full body massages at the regular prices.

Upon request, the Campus Recreation wellness team will come to your office and present one of the following fun, hands-on workshops. (Employees can also choose a different wellness topic.)
Please email Kate McMahon at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 2 weeks in advance to request a W.O.W. workshop. Each workshop will last 15-45 minutes.
In addition to the general spring 2014 Campus Recreation Group Exercise Schedule, the following classes are offered exclusively to Springfield College Employee Wellness participants, January 27 through May 9. There will be a modified schedule during spring break. All classes are held the Wellness and Recreation Complex, room 214.
Registration is not required to participate in these classes.
Join us on Monday from 12:05-12:50 p.m. for a great H.I.I.T (high-intensity interval training) workout that will blast calories during and after your workout. Modifications are giving for all fitness levels.
“Yogalates” is a combination of yoga and Pilates. The instructor will guide you through Pilates exercises and yoga postures while incorporating flexibility and relaxation to calm the spirit, mind, and body. This class will be held on Tuesdays from 12:05-1 p.m.
BODYPUMPTM, the original Les Mills barbell class, will sculpt, tone, and strengthen your entire body. BODYPUMPTM will help you burn fat, gain strength, and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning. This class is held from 12:05-12:50 p.m. on Wednesdays. Participants who attend four employee wellness BODYPUMPTM classes will receive a red BODYPUMPTM t-shirt!
Join us Thursdays, from 12:05-1 p.m. for a yoga class that offers appropriate modifications for both beginners and experienced students. Classes teach comfortable alignment, improved respiration, stress relief, and relaxation. Flexibility is NOT a prerequisite for this class!
Get ready for a surprise workout on Fridays from 12:05-12:50 p.m.! Your instructor chooses the format of each class to help you increase your aerobic endurance and/or muscular strength. Class formats may include step, strength training, circuit training, hi/low impact aerobics, kickboxing, cycle, dance, etc.
Employee Wellness participants are invited to attend monthly wellness seminars that include a lecture and discussion. Healthy lunches, provided by ARAMARK, are offered during these seminars, which are held in the Wellness and Recreation Complex, room 213, from 12-1 p.m. Please register by the Friday before each program.Introduction to A Healthy Me!

Weight Watchers at Work
Human Resources and Campus Recreation are looking to bring back Weight Watchers at Work. The start date, meeting day/time, length of program, and cost will be determined after gauging interest. If you are interested in joining Weight Watchers at Work, please email Kate McMahon at email@example.com.
March Into May
March Into May is back! Get moving this semester with our 8-week walking challenge for Employee Wellness participants. (Students are also welcome to register.) Participants who need a pedometer can pick up them from the office of Campus Recreation. The program will run March 3 through May 1. Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants with the highest number of steps and recognition will be given to the top three departments with the highest average step counts! Prizes will also be given to the three participants who have improved the most from previous years. So get your friends and co-workers together and start stepping!!

Join the ARAMARK chefs in these hands-on classes that cover a variety of information and healthy cooking techniques. The menus are seasonally inspired and allow each participant to bring home a meal for four.
Classes are offered in Cheney Hall’s back kitchen from 4:30-6 p.m. Classes are limited to staff and faculty participants. Call Kate McMahon at x3421 to register by the Friday before each class. Space is limited to 8 participants. Note: participants may only attend one cooking class per semester.
Cancellation policy: If you have registered for a cooking class and cannot attend, you must give at least 24 hours notice. If you do not give 24 hours notice, you will be charged a fee of $60 (the cost of the class per person). You may also find a replacement and forward the name to Kate McMahon at least 24 hours in advance of the class.
