Candidates in the Athletic Training Program are eligible for the Master of Science in Athletic Training with completion of Capstone Research Project.

Clinical Course Sequence: Athletic Training Students will engage in 51 weeks of hands-on learning in rich, dynamic and stimulating clinical learning environments.  Clinical education experiences are designed to expose students to clinical practice in a variety of settings under the direct supervision of experienced and properly credentialed healthcare providers.  Springfield College utilizes highly-skilled, evidenced-based preceptors and proudly connects with its strong athletic training alumni base from across the country to ensure the highest quality of clinical education.  Each phase of the clinical curriculum will continue to build upon previous didactic and laboratory coursework leading students to a culminating immersive experience targeted at their specific career goals.   A total of six clinical practicums, from integrative to immersive, will allow students nationwide learning opportunities in interscholastic, intercollegiate, and professional sport settings. Additional settings include performing arts, hospitals, physician offices, rehabilitation clinics, and more.

Matriculation and Retention Standards

Students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average GPA of 3.0 (B). Students who receive a grade of C+ or lower in any three courses will be removed from the Athletic Training program. Failure to meet and maintain Program Essential Functions and Technical Standards may also result in dismissal from the program.
