Nominations are being sought for a student to serve on the Springfield College Board of Trustees.
The student trustee selection process is underway, and faculty and staff members are asked to encourage students to apply for the position.
Springfield College offers a student trustee program, which is a two-year commitment, beginning in the junior year when the student trustee-elect prepares for trustee responsibilities by attending board meetings and events as an observer. In the second (senior) year, the student trustee is a full voting member of the Board of Trustees. This is an excellent opportunity to serve the College and to develop leadership skills.
Eligible students must be full-time undergraduates in good standing in their sophomore year who are able to make a two-year commitment. The names of those who submit a completed application will be included on the ballot for Student Government Association (SGA) election. Following the SGA elections, the Board’s committee on Trustees will review the applications, and select students to be interviewed by that committee.
The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014.
