Springfield College Board of Trustees Hosts Annual Meeting

The Springfield College Board of Trustees recently announced its 2015-16 board elections during its annual meeting on the campus. 

At left, Gregory Toczydlowski, resident of North Granby, Conn., has been elected to serve as chair for the Springfield College Board of Trustees. Toczydlowski is the president for personal insurance for The Travelers Companies, Inc.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Springfield College in 1989, and has been on the College’s Board of Trustees since 2011.

Toczydlowski takes over for Douglass L. Coupe of Bluffton, S.C., who served as chair for four years. Coupe is the retired vice president of State Street Global Investor Services. He earned a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, certificate of advanced studies at Springfield College, and has been a member of the College’s Board of Trustees for more than 20 years.

James H. Ross III, resident of Wilbraham, Mass., will serve as vice chair of the Board of Trustees. He is the former chief development officer for Grupo TorreSur in Southboro, Mass.

The following individuals have been re-elected to serve a three-year term on the Springfield College Board of Trustees:

Bridget Belgiovine, resident of Wellesley, Mass., is the current physical education, recreation, and athletics department chair at Wellesley College. She earned a master’s degree from Springfield College in 1987.

William A. Burke III, resident of East Longmeadow, Mass., is the chief operating officer for Newell Rubbermaid located in East Longmeadow, Mass.

Lisa B. Emirzian, resident of Longmeadow, Mass., is owner and a dentist focusing on esthetic and restorative dentistry for Emirzian, Mariano & Associates in East Longmeadow, Mass. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in 1979.

Jeni Ellis Halliday, resident of Houston, Texas, and New York, N.Y., is the owner of Wellness at Work.

MaryLynn A. Jacobs, resident of Somers, Conn., is founder and partner of Attain Therapy + Fitness in East Longmeadow, Mass. Jacobs earned a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in 1981.

Stephen W. McCarthy, resident of Duxbury, Mass., is director of Real Estate and Facilities for Shields Health Care Group in Quincy, Mass. McCarthy received a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in 1986.

Michele A. Megas-Ditomassi, resident of Longmeadow, Mass., is a community volunteer and retired teacher who earned a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in 1979. She also received a certificate of advanced study from the College in 1989.

Linda C. Moffat, resident of Amelia Island, Fla., is a retired media consultant for Moffat Communications. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in 1973.

John A. Odierna, resident of Longmeadow, Mass., is an attorney at law for the Law Offices of John A. Odierna in Springfield. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in 1964.

Robert M. Sullivan Jr., resident of Longmeadow, Mass., is president and owner of the Sullivan Companies in Springfield.

New to the Board of Trustees will be:

Kevin Washington, resident of Philadelphia, Pa., has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Springfield College Board of Trustees. Washington is president and chief executive officer of YMCA of the USA. Washington assumed his post on Feb. 1, 2015.

Jonathan P. Reidy, native of Agawam, Mass., was elected Springfield College Student Trustee.  Reidy is an athletic training major, and he will be entering his senior year this fall.
