Human Services

WHY STUDY HUMAN SERVICES?

Do you feel good when you've helped others to improve their lives? It takes a special type of person to work in the helping fields—a person with determination and the resourcefulness to arm a community to help itself. If you are ready to tackle pressing societal issues, this may be the field for you.

When you choose a course of study in a human services field, you'll be helping individuals and building stronger communities. You may advocate for those who have been victimized, work in early childhood education or with youth, be a case manager for people with substance abuse disorders, be a mental health counselor, work in corrections, or lead a nonprofit agency.
