School of Health Sciences and Rehabilitation Studies Mission Statement
The mission of the School of Health Sciences and Rehabilitation Studies is to prepare students for careers in health and human service professions. These professions provide a continuum of care from prevention, the fostering of human development, and intervention for injury, illness, and disability through rehabilitation and the restoration of daily function. The School is committed to providing students with interdisciplinary educational experiences and academic and clinical preparation that both reflects and leads a rapidly evolving health care system.The faculty serves as a model of professional leadership by educating students to be active life-long learners in their clinical, professional, administrative, or research careers. The faculty contributes to the clinical, professional, and scientific knowledge bases of the professions through active engagement in scholarship.
Reflecting the Humanics philosophy of Springfield College, the School embraces a commitment to community based, consumer oriented services designed to ensure the health, independence, and productive living of all persons.
