School of Human Services at Springfield College

School of Human Services

Message from the Dean:

Dean Robert J. WIlley, Jr. Welcome from Robert J. Willey, Jr. Dean of the School of Human Services of Springfield College.
Welcome to the School of Human Services of Springfield College. The School’s eleven campuses provide quality learning centers for adult students committed to the people-helping professions. As learning centers, we are a bridge that connects the experiences you have had in the past with the opportunities that you will have in the future. During your studies at the School of Human Services, you assess what you have already learned, clarify where you want to be personally and professionally, and identify how to get there—a process that involves not just a couple of years of formal education, but a lifetime of learning to be all that you are meant to be as a human being in community. The School provides the skills to cross that bridge.

Please explore our pages to learn more about who we are and the exciting things we are doing. We look forward to your joining us.

Why the Springfield College School of Human Services is better than an online degree program:

The Springfield College School of Human Services provides a rich learning environment where classroom and community experience is intertwined. Unlike online human services degree programs, Springfield College’s human services degree program promotes proactive learning through face-to-face interactions and vibrant discussion with colleagues. Earning a degree in human services from Springfield College is a rewarding and interactive experience that cannot be replicated in an online degree setting.

Career Outlook for Human Services

Human services is a broad and varied field where human service workers provide essential services to specific populations at social and welfare agencies, mental health agencies, nursing homes, and hospitals.

Addictions counselors, early childhood education teachers, and criminal justice workers are examples of great careers in the field of human services. The job outlook for those who earn a human services degree is excellent. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has ranked the human services occupation among the most rapidly growing in the country.
