Beta Beta Beta

Beta Beta Beta Logo Beta Beta Beta is the National Biology Honor Society. Its mission is to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study by extending human knowledge through scientific research. More than 175,000 persons have been inducted into membership in more than 430 chapters throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Beta Beta Beta began at Oklahoma City University. The Alpha chapter was formed, in 1922, by Dr. Frank G. Brooks and a group of students. By 1925 the society was a national organization. National conventions are held ever two years. The society journal, BIOS, publishes the results of student research, articles of interest to biologists, and society news.

One hundred sixty-three persons have been inducted into the local Chi Phi chapter at the Springfield College.
