Springfield College to Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Jan. 18, 2008 – Springfield College will honor the memory of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a presentation of the one-hour video, “I Have a Dream,” followed by a roundtable discussion on King’s life, on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m., in Appleton Auditorium of Fuller Arts Center, on the campus.

Leading the discussion will be Mulugeta Agonafer, Springfield College professor of human services. Panelists will be Springfield College faculty members: Clifton Bush, associate professor of human services; Gordon Robinson, associate professor of sociology; Daniel Russell, professor of social sciences; and Martin Dobrow, assistant professor of communications. Also on the panel will be Gina Joseph Collins, national training director and director of college and university partnerships for the YMCA of the USA, and Sherann Jackson, Springfield College graduate who received her master’s degrees in education and social work from Columbia University.
