SC To Present Open House On Career Advancement In Social Work

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Nov. 19, 2004 -- The Springfield College School of Social Work will present an open house for persons interested in professional social work careers on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, from 4 to 6 p.m., at its new facilities in the Springfield College Brennan Center, 45 Island Pond Road, Springfield.

Springfield College offers the only master of social work weekend program in New England. Faculty members, administrators and students will answer questions on the school’s master’s degree programs that can be completed part-time in three years with weekend classes, or full-time in two years on weekdays. Information also will be available on the combined master of social work/juris doctorate (MSW/JD) four-year program in conjunction with Western New England College School of Law.

The school also offers an advanced standing master of social work program for qualified graduates of bachelor of social work programs that are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

The Springfield College School of Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, the official accrediting body for social work programs in the United States. Graduates are eligible for professional social work licensure in all 50 states. The MW/JD program is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. Graduates are eligible for professional social work licensure and bar examination.
