Cheney Hall Renovations Complete
Cheney Hall, the Springfield College dining facility, was remodeled into an upscale restaurant-like environment through a $3.2 million renovation in 2004. The new design is centered around fresh food where culinary teams prepare and customize each meal in front of the student. Five food preparation areas include home style cooking, a flame broiling grille, an enhanced salad bar, a bakery, and a pasta and pizza section. Echoing the fresh food theme, the dining room design features a variety of building materials in natural colors including wood, tile, carpet, granite and synthetics. Students have the option of seating at booths, standard or high tables and chairs, or in sections with elevated floors. In addition to the main dining room, there are two meeting rooms and a small formal dining room for special events.Recent Headlines
