INTERNSHIPS

GRADUATE INTERN  Seeking graduate student in either the Student Personnel Administration Masters Program or Industrial/Organizational Psychology Masters Program to work as a paid intern in the Bay Path College Career Services Office for the 2008-09 academic year.  The position would be available from late August 2008-May 2009 and requires 12-15 hours per week of availability.  Candidates must be available to work 30-40 hours per week during the month of January 2009 for preparation and involvement in a career program. INTERNSHIPS WITH THE FOOD BANK of Western Massachusetts. 
Advocacy Internship working on projects related to macro policy change at the state and federal levels, as well as local grassroots and national advocacy initiatives dedicated to increasing community food security. Flexible hours. Conversant in Spanish or Russian a plus.  Stipend offered and mileage reimbursement for field work.  Academic credit can be arranged. Brown Bag Survey Volunteer Assist department with administrative, and clerical tasks.  Spanish language skills and events planning a plus. Work 4-20 hours/week.  Paid for mileage from one food bank site to another.

SUMMER YOUTH OBESITY PREVENTION PROGRAM  at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical center. Paid summer position working with youth in an obesity prevention program. All Citizen Schools volunteers receive intensive training and are supported by a full-time, professional educator every step of the way. ADMINISTRATIVE INTERNSHIP A part-time, ten-month internship with stipend ($18,700) is offered for current or recent graduate students interested in pursuing a career in education administration with academic or professional credentials in an accredited education or education administration program or school. The Administrative Intern will work closely with the schools’ After School Director in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for supporting the in-class activities of the program’s Teaching Interns, developing and executing program wide activities and assist in the administration of the After School Program. INTERNSHIPS IN PRODUCTION AND BROADCAST JOURNALISM with the Institute for Humane Studies. Two paid fall internship programs for students interested in gaining experience in production and broadcast journalism. IHS Production Internships - An excellent opportunity to spend the Fall shadowing an experienced producer at a busy production company, shooting film, working on video game animation, or building up your screenwriting skills. SCIENCE INTERN Pomfret School, a small boarding and day school in northeastern CT, seeks a science teaching intern for the 2008-2009 school year. Pomfret offers a dynamic science program grounded by the core disciplines of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. As currently envisioned, the intern will teach chemistry, teaming with a master-level teacher to build an inquiry-based classroom and to design powerful laboratory experiences for second-year science students. The Crittenton Women’s Union transforms the course of low-income women’s lives so that they can attain economic independence and create better futures for themselves and their families. Research and Innovation is dedicated to understanding what it takes to reach economic self-sufficiency, and using that knowledge to inform program design and social change. Research and Innovation works directly with our clients and direct-care staff to conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies to learn more about the clients we serve, research and benchmark best practices, analyze policies, formulate and launch new programs, and develop and analyze outcomes. This is a great opportunity for someone to learn how to apply research skills in a community based setting and receive guidance and mentoring from senior researchers. We have several projects that we are currently recruiting for. SUMMER STUDY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM  during the first six weeks of this 12-week program, students take two academic summer courses chosen from one of eight tracks, earning eight credits.  The final six weeks of the program, BU places each individual in a relevant, professional internship at a Boston-based, U.S.-based, or multinational firm or organization.  Student also enroll in a two-credit Internship Course, while ongoing workshops led by faculty and internship advisors build skills in resume writing and interviewing.  By the end of the program, students earn a total of 10 semester credits.  Summer Program Tracks:  Arts and Culture, Business and Management, Film and Media Studies, Graphic and Web Design, International Studies, Politics and Public Policy, Psychology and Social Policy, Self-Designed Track.
