Cultural Connections – Building Unity Through Community

When is Cultural Connections?

Cultural Connections begins at dinner on September 1 and ends September 2, 2010
Cultural Connections is designed to build unity through community, by attracting students from a wide variety of racial and ethnic populations. The program promotes group bonding experiences, which focus on embracing diversity. The program is enhanced through student participation in group sessions and other activities, and is aimed at helping students to develop a greater appreciation for individual differences.

Goals For Cultural Connections
  • To develop an appreciation for the various services performed by Multicultural Affairs
  • To bring together students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds
  • To develop an appreciation for racial and cultural differences through student group sessions
  • To introduce students to opportunities that exist in the Academic Success Center
  • To develop an appreciation for cultural activities in the city of Springfield
