Springfield College Ice Hockey March 26 and 27

Dear Hockey Alums,

The pesky days of warm weather and lounging on the beach will soon be behind us and will give way to much more favorable conditions – sleet, snow, and the mixed aroma of rubber floors and Zamboni exhaust! That’s right, it’s time to start thinking about hockey. This hockey season is particularly noteworthy because we will be hosting a reunion for all Springfield College ice hockey alumni and we want you to be there.

The event is planned for the weekend of March 26 and 27, 2010. The planning committee is working hard to make this a memorable event including the following schedule:

• Friday, March 26

  Evening: Social event downtown in the new Basketball Hall of Fame complex.

• Saturday, March 27

  Mid-day: Ice time for an alumni game and post-game family skate time.
  Early evening: Reception and dinner for alum and families on campus.

A block of rooms has been set aside at the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield (located adjacent to the Basketball Hall of Fame) for both Friday and Saturday night with a discounted rate available to those attending our event. To book a room, call the Hilton directly at 413-886-8000, and use a major credit card. Be sure to tell them you’re attending the Springfield College Ice Hockey Reunion to receive the special rate!

This is a great opportunity to reconnect with friends who share the interest of hockey. Further, this is a great chance to get back on campus. As a current employee at the College, I can tell you with great confidence: you will be blown away with the campus if you have not been here in the last two years.

What we need from you:

	Get the word out! Within this mailing, you will find a list of SC hockey alum. If you see a name on the list, it means we have contact info for that person. It would be very helpful if you could peruse the list and contact us with any name that you think is missing. Since the previous letter, we have been able to increase our mailing list substantially via this mechanism. We also have a Facebook page to help keep us connected: Springfield College Ice Hockey Alumni.
	Return your pre-response form! If you have not submitted a pre-response form to us yet, please complete the one enclosed with this letter and send it to us. Formal registration will occur later in the year.
	Contribute an item for a silent auction! We will hold a silent auction at the reception / dinner with proceeds to benefit the current team. We are looking for a few high-quality items. If you are interested in making a contribution, please contact the alumni relations office at 413-748-3161.
