As I write this letter, our class is about 115 days away from celebrating our 50th reunion at Springfield College.  Time continues to slip away.  Its funny, the older I get, the faster time slips by.  The time is now to get in gear and to make plans to attend our 50th on June 10th through the 13th, 2010.

Annual Fund: To date, our class has committed a total of $15,875 dollars in cash and pledges this year.  86 of our classmates have pledged or donated, which amounts to 46% of the class.  Our goal this year is 60%.  We need at least an additional 26 classmates to contribute to reach the 60% goal.  Saddle up.

Class Dues: Please assist the Reunion Committee by sending in class dues of $ 15.00 so we can continue to make this reunion the best ever.  Make checks payable to Springfield College, and note Class of 1960 at the bottom of your check.  Remember this is above and beyond your Annual Fund gift and not tax deductable.

Hotel Info: Our Class of 1960 has a room block at the Crowne Plaza in Enfield, Connecticut.  The rate is $ 99.00 per night.  The cutoff date for participating in the room block is May 20th.  Please call (860) 741-2211 and make your reservation by using a major credit card to hold your room.

Survey/Trivia: The Class of 1960 is creating a series of “Most Awards.”  The survey will be sent out via another mailing and will ask a series of questions for you to answer and return.  During the reunion fabulous (?) prizes will be awarded to the winner/winners of the trivia contest created by classmate Bill Decker.  You may wish to sharpen up on Springfield history, current events, and whatever comes to Bill Decker’s mind (?).

Attendance: All members of the Class of 1960 are urged to attend the 50th reunion.  If you can’t make all of the events, please join us for some of them.  Come for a day if your schedule doesn’t permit you to attend the festivities for the entire weekend.  It would be great to have you there for the photographs of the Class of 1960, which will be taken on Saturday morning.  But come for any or all of the reunion.

Help: Even if you are not on the Reunion Committee, you can be a great help to us.  Simply be a calling committee of one, and call at least 5 of your classmates and urge them to join us in June.  If every member of the Class of 1960 called 5 classmates, we would have an outstanding attendance at the reunion.  That is our aim.  Your help will be most appreciated.

Events: The Alumni Office and the Class of 1960 Reunion Committee have put together what promises to be an outstanding program with something for everyone.  The golf tournament and a fun filled Monte Carlo evening is on Friday, and the bulk of the reunion activities are on Saturday, with the Class Dinner on Saturday evening.  The campus has been almost totally made over and upgraded, and you will be justifiably proud of the job President Flynn and the trustees have done.  Come and see the campus, along with your classmates.
