Exhibit Opening and Art Gallery
The School of Human Services San Diego Campus celebrated the opening of the two-month long 2006 Asian & Pacific Islander exhibit at the Community Art Gallery on Saturday, June 10, 2006. The exhibit, which was co-sponsored by the Pacific American Educational Scholarship Foundation, includes the work of nine community artists representing the art and culture of Asia and the Pacific Islands, including China, Japan, Hawaii, India, and Maori. Artists included Anthia & Tawnee Austin, Jessica Brown, Nadira Charaniya, Amira Moani Kealo Dolfo, Dixie Galapon, Kwan Jung, Yee Wah Jung, Teresa Stewart-Todd, and Albert Verbeek. The evening was celebrated with a magnificent performance by the young dancers of Heali’i Polynesian Review and an opportunity to meet with the artists.
