Spring 2012 Group Exercise Schedule

  • All classes are held in the Wellness & Recreation Complex.
  • Cycle classes are in room 202. All other classes are in room 214.
  • No advanced registration is required.
  • Spring classes will run Jan. 23 through May 1.
  • There will be no classes Feb. 20.
  • There will be a limited schedule during spring break and finals.
  • The class schedule is subject to change without notice.

Group Exercise Class Descriptions

20/20/20

This class is broken up into three 20 minute sections, which may include cardiovascular exercise (like kickboxing or step), strength training exercises, core training, and flexibility. Expect something new and exciting each week!

Ab Lab

This class focuses on strengthening the muscles of the core through some innovative and fun exercises. Make sure to come early, as this class fills up fast!

Boot Camp

Work up a sweat in this challenging class that consists of strength, core, and cardiovascular training. The instructor will modify exercises to accommodate a variety of fitness levels.

Campus WRECK

If you're looking for a little extra motivation and/or direction with your fitness training and like exercising with others, this class is for you. Our instructors will lead you through challenging boot camp-inspired and innovative exercise sessions that will include a wide range of activities. Expect something different each week! 

Cardio Kickboxing

This class will knock you out! Get ready to punch and kick your way to an awesome cardiovascular workout using boxing, kickboxing and martial arts techniques.

Cyclates

Come experience cycle AND Pilates! “Cyclates” will incorporate 30 minutes of traditional cycle and 15 minutes of Pilates core and flexibility exercises.

Cycle

This cardiovascular class will get your heart pumping while cycling on indoor stationary bikes using drills, imagery and/or themes. Cycling is a great workout that people of all fitness levels can enjoy.

Cycle ‘n’ Core

30 minutes of cycling and 15 minutes of core training are packed into this fun and challenging class. You can look forward to great music and an energetic instructor.

Fit Camp

In this boot camp-inspired class, the instructor will challenge you (with appropriate modifications) with a variety of high intensity intervals, including cardio bursts, body weight exercises, and strength training. All fitness levels welcome!

Guilt-Free Weekend Workout

Come burn lots of energy before your weekend begins! The “guilt-free weekend workout” consists of cardiovascular training, muscular endurance training, challenging core exercises, and plyometrics. If you’re looking to have a good and healthy start to the weekend, come on in and leave your guilt at the door.

Guts, Butts, & Thighs

Just like the name states, this class will focus on the abdominals, glutes, and legs. The instructor will lead you through abdominal/core exercises, squats, lunges, and a variety of lower body moves.

Instructor’s Choice

The instructor chooses the format of each class to help you increase your aerobic endurance and/or muscular strength. Class formats may include step, hi/low impact aerobics, kickboxing, circuit training, dance, etc.

Kickbox ‘n’ Core

This class is divided into two sections: cardio kickboxing and core training. The instructor may teach a traditional group exercise class or in a circuit training/station format. Punch, kick, and crunch your way to fitness!

Muscle Fit

Strengthen your muscles in this full body resistance training class that utilizes stability balls, bands, tubing, barbells, dumbbells and more.

Pilates

Created by Joseph Pilates, this class will focus on creating stronger muscles, with a focus on your core. Breathing and relaxation are combined with exercises to help you “center” your mind and body.

Step ‘n’ Sculpt

Your favorite step moves combined with some great strength training exercises that will improve both your cardiovascular and muscular fitness.

Total Body Blast

This awesome full body workout is comprised of a variety of body weight exercises mixed with use of equipment. It will include intervals of cardiovascular drills and strength training.

Yoga

Connect with your body, mind, and spirit while improving your strength and flexibility. All levels welcome. Each instructor has a unique teaching style and approach to yoga.

Yogalates

“Yogalates” is a combination of yoga and Pilates. The instructor will challenge you with Pilates exercises and yoga postures, while incorporating flexibility and relaxation to calm the spirit, mind, and body.

Zumba

Dance to Latin rhythms while you get a workout! You will do the Salsa, Merenge, Cha-Cha, Belly-dancing and a little bit of Hip Hop! Zumba is fun, easy, and a little spicy!
