William E. Cameron

William E. CameronBill Cameron was an active member, part time staff member and resident camp counselor at the Allentown (PA) YMCA in his youth. He began his YMCA career in 1977 ad the Executive Director of the North Penn, and later, the Main Line YMCA’s in Pennsylvania after having served as pastor at the United Church of Christ and having worked in a variety of social service and community development agencies. For the next twenty six years, Cameron established himself as one of the most well respected Y leaders as a management consultant, author, mentor, trainer and speaker. He wrote numerous articles and training materials, including a column for Perspective magazine, and had a collection of his writings published as a book, The Last Word. He received AYP’s Kuenzli-Hall Award, and the AYP Cameron Award for Excellence in Writing is named after him. In retirement, Cameron continued his involvement with YMCA of the USA as a part time consultant, facilitator, and frequent presenter at YMCA “Principles and Practices.
