Greetings to all--
*Here are some important things to remember about our 25th reunion!
* Please try and register for our 25th reunion weekend as soon as your reunion registration brochure arrives. You should receive it in mid April. We all know how important it is to have an accurate headcount for the various activities.
*How often do you think about our old classmates and wonder where they are or how they are doing- Now would be the perfect time to do that. Get in touch with them and have them come for an hour, a day, or entire weekend, we want to see you all!
*Hotel/Motel arrangements should be made as soon as possible. Rooms tend to fill up in a hurry. We are suggesting everyone stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in West Springfield. The number to call is 413-732-9543 and the price is $109.00. Several committee members already have reservations there. If you prefer another housing option, a list of other facilities with blocks of rooms for Springfield College alumni is enclosed. Saturday evening there will be babysitting for a nominal fee. Pre-registration is imperative to ensure proper adult child ratios.
*Family--For those of you that will be bringing the family along to share in the festivities, there will be plenty for you to do as a family and the alumni office will also be providing sitting-services for your children. For only $7 per hour you can roam the campus knowing your SC future is being well taken care of. Lots of fun activities for all ages. This service will definitely come in handy for our Saturday evening dinner...
*On Saturday the 14th, we will all gather on The Green" at approximately noon for our 25th reunion picture to be followed by a parade around "The Green" of all the recognized reunion classes... Suggestion to my old buddies--if you're not planning on wearing a hat for our class picture--Get some of that "hair coloring for men" like I do--works every time... We know that this would be something that the ladies would never do...
*I have been told that the class of '83 will be amazed at all the changes that have take place over the years, especially in just the past five alone. I don't think any of us will need any encouragement to get out and reminisce at the old and marvel at the new. It will also give you something to chat about with prospective SC alums when you return home after an all too short weekend filled with "PRIDE"...
*Our own Dave Boyle is going to be providing a beer and wine tasting on Saturday afternoon.
*If you haven’t made your gift/five-year pledge back to the college, do it now! By pledging what you intend to give each year for the next five years, the entire amount counts toward The Kresge Challenge, toward the Campaign, and toward our Reunion Class Gift. We can have an even greater impact now by making a five year pledge!
*To sum all of this up... A lot of people have worked very hard behind the scenes in trying to make this a momentous occasion for us. Thank you all for that and I hope you all can make it back home to SC to share in the moment of us being a family again. Please continue using the e-mail chain and contacting anyone on the committee to track down an old classmate. I hope to be dropping you a line soon in letting you all know the finalization of plans that is going to be the BEST weekend....
