Evangelical Life at Springfield College

Campus Ministry The Evangelical Community at Springfield College has taken off since Pastor Greg Dyson joined our community last spring.

Pastor Greg is no stranger to the SC campus. A native of Springfield, Pastor Greg, or "PG" as the students know him, would find himself riding his bike around our campus when he was a youngster. He still finds himself riding around our campus but now it's on a Honda 1150 Gold Wing.

PG's office hours are Tuesday nights 9PM-10:30PM. During that time you can find him on the top floor of the Beveridge Center (B.C.) in Moses Hall. He conducts a Bible study and discussion. PG can usually be found hanging out in Cheney Hall during the earlier part of Tuesday night for Dinner as well.

Got WIFE?

PG provides four important spiritual elements for our students on campus:

W- Worship Helping students give God his "props" (Respect- HIS worth)

I - Instruction Through studying God's instruction manual, students gain help for living their life on campus as well as the future.

F - Fellowship Getting together with other students around issues of spirituality is a great way to bond. Many students will come from homes that always spent Sunday in church with family visits following services. We want Tuesday night to be that kind of connection for the students on campus.

E - Expression Expression of Faith. Just like a sponge, eventually all the good stuff someone has soaked up should be "rung out" and that's finding ways to express one's faith. Applying the truth that one learns from the Bible is a great way to express what is believed in the heart. That expression can come via, community service, at places like the Lion's Den Youth Outreach Center (see www.lionsdenoutreach.org ), feeding the needy at the Springfield Rescue Mission, or all night prayer meetings with Midnight Cry from Mission Center New Jerusalem.

Pastor Greg has been married to his wife Gina for over 22 years. They have been blessed with three wonderful children. PG serves as the Interim Sr. Pastor at Church in the Acres, He serves as the Executive Director of the Lion's Den Youth Outreach Center of Indian Orchard, a center that reaches out to youths. He consults with various churches and organizations in our region. Pastor Greg "PG" currently serves on the faculty team of the Institute for Revival and Awakening that occurs at Yale University. Greg hosts a weekly podcasted radio show "With Eternity in mind" and is the Co-Chairman of the City of Springfield's Project Homeless Connect event. PG speaks at camps and teaches specialty workshops on religious issues and a few years ago was invited to do two special chapels for the Philadelphia 76'ers. Pastor Greg holds a BA in Bible from Cedarville University and is completing a MS in Organizational Leadership from Philadelphia Biblical University. His favorite phrase is "Live with eternity in mind."
