Wellness Education Programs

Wellness Education Photo Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator are available to deliver fun and interactive health and wellness programs and workshops in the residence halls, classrooms, or anywhere on campus.

Please fill out the online program request form and your submission will be forwarded to the Health Educator and Pride’s P.A.W.S. The Health Educator will respond with the status of your request within 5 business days.

All requests MUST be made 2 weeks in advance. You can request programs here.

Below are a list of programs provided by the Health Educator and Pride’s P.A.W.S.:


Wellness Education Photo AA: Alcohol Awareness: This program looks at different types of alcohol and the impact it has on the body. Common myths about alcohol will be dispelled through interactive games and educational activities using the Fatal Vision Goggles. Participants also learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning and how to help. This program is facilitated by the Health Educator.

City Limits: A dynamic and interactive look at how stereotyping and hurtful language can negatively impact the appreciation of diversity. This program is designed to be a fun and competitive game where participants get a first-hand look at the different challenges in today’s society regarding diversity. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Cosmo Girl: This highly interactive program looks at how body image is impacted by the media, peers, and society. Participants play fun games that reveal the truth about body image issues and promote healthy body image and esteem. Though this program is designed with female participants in mind, it can be modified for co-ed or male audiences. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Did You Ask?: This program educates participants on the realities of sexual assault through an open and interactive discussion and activities. Participants learn what constitutes consent, dispel myths regarding sexual assault, and how to help a friend. This program is facilitated by the Health Educator.

Dip & Dont's: An interactive program on dip and tobacco use which teaches participants about cessation techniques, statistics, and addiction. Participants move through the program in smaller groups to play games that increase the fun and educational experience. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Eat This, Not That: This program educates participants on the importance of eating a healthy and balanced diet. Participants leave equipped with the tools to make smart decisions with food on and off campus through visual cues for portion sizes and fat intake. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Healthy Relationships: Through role playing, quizzes, and other games participants learn the foundation for a healthy relationship, whether it be with a friend, family member, or romantic partner. Participants will also be able to define some of the symptoms of an unhealthy relationship through these exercises. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Hula Hooping A fun and energetic program that lets you feel like a kid again! Using specially weighted adult hoops, participants will work their core, exercise their cardiovascular system, stretch, and even learn a few hooping tricks. Hula Hooping is a great way to incorporate physical activity into your day in a fun, interactive way. This program can accommodate up to 14 participants and is facilitated by the Health Educator.

Wellness Education Photo Let’s Talk About Sex: This educational and entertaining program takes participants through different game stations to evaluate their personal values and experiences regarding sexual behavior. Participants will be able to make educated decisions about sexual activity as they explore contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases and infections, and correct ways to use barriers such as condoms. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Safer Sex: This program introduces the idea of safer sex to reinforce that there are physical and emotional risk associated with all intimate acts. Participants learn the difference between “unsafe sex,” “safer sex,” and “abstinence” in this frank and interactive program that is designed for upperclass students. Methods of protection, options for those practicing abstinence, and sexually transmitted disease and infection information are provided. This program is facilitated by the Health Educator.

Stressed Out!: This program addresses something all college students feel – stress! – and teaches them how to manage it in a healthy way. Participants will examine what really stresses them out, learn techniques to manage their stress levels, find healthy ways to de-stress, and tips for time management. Stressed Out! leads participants from stressed to de-stressed in a funny, frank, and interactive manner. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Wash Your Hands!: This program sets out to educate participants on proper handwashing techniques and how to reduce their risk for exposure to germs. Participants learn the difference between bacteria and viruses and the proper way to use alcohol-based hand sanitizers with fun demonstrations. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Weekend Wipeout: Through interactive small group stations, participants learn the realities of alcohol and drinking. Participants are challenged to understand the standard size of various drinks, experience the visual impairment of alcohol with the Fatal Vision Goggles, and debunk the myths while better understanding the facts about alcohol in the body. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.

Yoga & Meditation: This program expands the idea of “yoga for everyone.” Yoga has stigma attached to it and this program aims to dismiss this from the group’s heads and instill upon them a respect and intrigue into the world of Yoga. This program involves basic yoga along with a meditation exercise and optional time for stress ball making. This program is facilitated by Pride’s P.A.W.S. and the Health Educator.
