Criminal Justice Minor
The Criminal Justice Minor gives students knowledge about the nature and context of the crime problem in society, from theoretical and practice-oriented perspectives. The minor offers students majoring in other academic disciplines and training an option that will assist in the preparation of a successful career in, and related to, criminal justice.The minor in Criminal Justice consists of a total of student credit hours, including four core courses (12 student credit hours) and two elective criminal justice courses (6 student credit hours).
REQUIREMENTS OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE MINOR: (18 S.H.)
The required core courses are the following:
- CRIM 101 Introduction to Criminal Justice
- CRIM 325 Juvenile Delinquency
- CRIM 370 Violence and Victimization
- CRIM 270 Constitutional Law
Two elective courses (6 credits) are selected from the following: (3 credits for each course)
- CRIM 201 Criminological Theory
- CRIM 205 Introduction to Corrections
- CRIM 220 Law Enforcement
- CRIM 230 Deviant Behavior
- CRIM 310 Crime Scene Investigation
- CRIM 330 Criminal Law
- CRIM 460 Criminology
- POSC 320 Civil Liberties
