Manhattan Virtual Classroom
Participation in SHS weekend programs means your classes will only meet once a month. Many SHS instructors incorporate the Manhattan Virtual Classroom into the curriculum to enhance academic dialogue and communication when classes are not in session. To enter your Manhattan Virtual Classroom, you must first access the Springfield College website from any computer that has Internet access. This means you can access Manhattan from home, the library or a friend's house. It only takes a few clicks, and you are in your Manhattan classroom.
You will need your nine digit Springfield College ID number to access your Manhattan account.
Your username will never change as long as you keep the same last name.
Your username = your initials in lower case + the last four digits of your SC ID number before the dash.
For example, Jane Doe with ID number 000126789-1, would have a username that looks like:
jd6789
Click the Manhattan Access Tutorial link below to listen to and view a step-by-step tutorial on how to access your Manhattan courses. Make sure your PC speakers are turned on.
You don’t need an E-mail address for Manhattan!
A Post Office module exists in Manhattan and works just like E-mail. Once you access your Manhattan class successfully you will be able to:
- send E-mail to your instructor or fellow classmates
- retrieve class assignments
- attach completed work to modules
- send completed coursework to instructors
- participate in class discussions
- link to resourceful websites
- participate in chat discussions with colleagues
