Student Loan Deferments For Current Students
Defermenta postponement of repayment under various specific circumstances.Situations in which you may qualify for a deferment if:
- You are enrolled at least half-time at a postsecondary school.
- You are studying in an approved graduate fellowship program or in an approved rehabilitation training program for the disabled.
- You are unable to find full-time employment.
- You are experiencing economic hardship.
Don’t assume everything is finecontinue to make scheduled payments until you have received confirmation from your lender that you are officially in deferment status.
