Class of '75 Spring Letter
Dear Class of '75,
The Red Sox are winning against NY and the Orioles; the Celtics are playing in the playoffs; the cherry trees and dogwoods are in bloom (at least in Maryland they are.); birds are chirping. Spring is definitely here, so out reunion can't be far off!
Decisions have been made and steps have been taken...We're having Italian for dinner. Donnie Pingree has made the master "Class Notes '75" CD, and it has been sent to California where 100 copies are to be made. Charlie Brock is working to pull together our "Field Day" events. Items for the silent auction are waiting to be placed at registration. A class gift, which each class member and guest will receive when they register, has been selected. Kevin O'Sullivan has agreed to emcee our class dinner. Have you sent in your check for class dues? You are coming, aren't you? Everyone is expecting you!
Plans for the phone-a-thon were delayed until early May, so don't be surprised to hear a vaguely familiar voice in the not too distant future asking you to come join the fun. Confirmations of definite "comers" include Jane Shaw Lewis and Nancy Henika Blake, who are both flying in. Tom Goodman says he won't be able to make it but wants to say to everyone, and Mike Junsch will probably have a conflict with graduation, but Gordy Duross says that he and Tom Vitalini, Joan Perry, Bill Dixon, Bob Pollard, Ed Misteri, and Joe Nye are working to coordinate their arrival. Our latest head count was 40 definites and 11 maybe's. When are you going to add your name to the 40?
The Alumni Office (Chris Caster is our contact person if you need a question answered) is working with us. Pat is waiting for any photos of "then" that you might send to her (Just be sure the info of who's who in the picture and your name/address are on the back of each so she can mail them back to you.) She's also waiting for survey responses so she can tally the results of favorite class and professor, hardest class and professor, best room, etc. You can contact her at oreillymat@comcast.net. Diana is sending out another e-mail blast, hoping to reach out to a few more classmates. She'll be asking for volunteers to bring items and/or food stuffs for our socials in the basement of International. Contact her at sulliv2548@aol.com.
The official brochure has been mailed, you may have it already. Costs should be as they have been: rooms at $28/per single a night, and $39.50 per double; golf is $70; Friday night at Freshman Camp/the Pueblo is free (as is van transportation to and from); Parade of Classes lunch on Saturday is $12.50; our class dinner is $24/per person. Remember, it's virtually impossible to find a less expensive get-away than our reunion. The accommodations are suitable, the food will be great, and the company will be spectacular! Come join in the fun, memories, and good times!
The location for dinner has not been confirmed yet, as that decision cannot be made a definite until we have a better idea of the final head count. Send in your registration NOW! We'd like to have everything ready and waiting for the best class to have the best time! So if you've been hesitating or just putting a decision on the back burner for a while, go! You KNOW you'll have great time with friends, both old and new. So call, send a note (and a check for class dues for $25.75) and tell the Alumni Office that you're coming to the Class of '75's 25th Reunion on June 10-12 (June 9 if you'd like an extra night). While you have your checkbook out, don’t forget your Annual Fund donation if you haven’t already made one.
Everyone will be waiting for you!
In "Scotchman" Spirit,
Pat O'Reilly and Diana Peckham
