Health Studies Major and Teacher Preparation Program
Degree: Bachelor of Science (BS)This major provides students with the knowledge and skills to plan, implement, and evaluate health programs. It is one of only a few such professional programs in New England. Graduates go on to careers in government and social agencies, public and private schools, and clinical settings such as hospitals and medical facilities.
Health Education Teacher Licensure Program
Students preparing to become teachers also take a range of education courses. Upon completion, they are eligible for the license exam to teach health education for grades pre-K to 12.
Core Curriculum In addition to general education requirements, core curriculum in health studies and health education teacher licensure includes:

- Introduction to Nutrition
- Community Health Education
- Human Sexuality
- Organization, Administration, and Assessment for the School Health Program
- Human Disease
- Special Topics in Health Studies
