“U.S.NEWS & World Report” RANKS SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE IN NEW 2007 “AMERICA'S BEST COLLEGES” ISSUE Springfield College is ranked in the top tier in its category in the 2007 edition of "America's Best Colleges" from "U.S. News."
SCHOO HALL RENOVATIONS UNDERWAY In May, the College began work to renovate and expand Schoo Hall into a state-of-the-art science center. Access the webcam to view our progress.
STUDENTS RETURN FOR FALL SEMESTER Springfield College has begun welcoming back student athletes to campus, with the official opening of residence halls slated for September 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and September 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. New students will move in September 1, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Classes begin on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Faculty and staff, on campus to prepare for fall semester, will attend the All-College Meeting on Thurs., August 31. LEARNING IN LATER LIFE For people age 55 and older, Springfield College's Institute for Learning in Later Life will offer an entertaining series of short courses on subjects including the 2006 Congressional election, Civil War history, Tennessee Williams, Christianity, Mozart, hands-on art, film appreciation, and hot topics in health care. Among the day trips planned will be a fall foliage excursion to Williamstown with stops at the Clark Institute and Chapin Library of Rare Books and Manuscripts and lunch at the Williams Inn. WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS FINISHES 14TH IN THE 2006 NACGC/W ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN TEAM STANDINGS The 2006 women’s gymnastics team has finished 14th overall in this year’s National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) Academic All-American Team standings. Read more.
BASCETTA NOMINATED BY NEWMAC FOR NCAA WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD Meghan Bascetta, a 2006 graduate of Springfield College and a member of the field hockey team, will represent the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in national balloting for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. The honor is given to a student-athlete who excels in academics, athletics, leadership, and service. The NCAA Woman of the Year will be announced in Indianapolis on October 28, 2006. Read more.
MEN'S GYMNASTICS FINISHES 10TH IN THE 2006 NATIONAL ACADEMIC TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS The 2006 men’s gymnastics team has finished 10th overall in this year’s National Academic Team Championship Standings, in an announcement made by The College Gymnastics Association back on July 24th, from the College of William and Mary. October 1, Northfield, Mass. The Pioneer Valley Alumni Association hosts their annual Connecticut River riverboat cruise event in Northfield.
October 7, Washington, D.C. Baltimore Washington Alumni Association DC United vs. New England Revolution soccer event. Pre-game tailgating in Lot 8.
