SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE TO SECURE ACQUISITION FUND FOR NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING Future new homes in Old Hill moved from a plan to an impending reality June 21 whenSpringfield Collegeannounced that it will secure a $1.5 million property acquisition fund for The Neighborhood Collaborative LLC. Read more.

SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTS WALSH, BLAKE, GRIGGS AS OFFICERS The Springfield College Board of Trustees reelected James E. Walsh of East Longmeadow, Mass., as chair; and elected Helen Davis Blake of Somers, Conn., and Stuart, Fla., as vice chair, and Sally M. Griggs of Northampton, Mass., as secretary at its annual meeting on May 20. Read more.

KATIE HAWKE NAMED IWLCA DIVISION III BERKSHIRE REGIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR Springfield Collegesecond-year head coach Katie Hawke has been named the 2006 Division III Berkshire Regional Women's Lacrosse Coach of the Year, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). SILVIENNE KROSENDIJK AND KELSEY BISHOP COMPETE IN THE NCAA DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIPS A total of five athletes from Springfield College competed in the 2006 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, in May. Read more.

July 1, New Britain, Ct. Connecticut Alumni Association presents New Britain Rock Cats vs. Connecticut Defenders baseball. Pre-game picnic on Webster Terrace, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

July 22, Flushing, N.Y.Greater New York City Alumni Association presents the New York Mets vs. Houston Astros event with noon pre-game picnic at the Shea Stadium picnic area

July 23, Manchester, N.H. The New Hampshire Alumni Association presents a Fisher Cats baseball event vs. Trenton Yankees.  Pre-game picnic on first base party deck beginning at 11:30 a.m.

July 27-30, Nashville, Tenn. YMCA General Assembly, Alumni & Friends Social

July 31, Boston, Mass. The Eastern Mass, Rhode Island, and Pioneer Valley Alumni associations present the Boston Red Sox vs. Cleveland Indians.  Pre-game reception at Bertucci's in Kenmore Square.
