Dr. Clifford Putney, senior lecturer in history at Bentley College and author of the book "Muscular Christianity," will speak on Luther Gulick's early life and what led him into YMCA work.

Dr. Putney will also speak about why Gulick's 'Body-Mind-Spirit' philosophy was readily adopted by the "Y". Dr. Putney is currently working on "The Gulicks, a trilogy chronicling the lives, achievements and historical significance of one of America's most remarkable reforming families."
