Senior Andreas Craig of Springfield, Mass., is the Cadets’ top receiver with 27 receptions for 452 yards and 4 TDs ... On defense, junior ILB Micah Lieberman is the team’s top tackler with 63 ... SC’s Offense: QB Chris Sharpe (Derry, N.H.) ran for 251 yards and 3 TDs (of 3, 58, and 43 yards) in the win over Hartwick. The 251 yards were 17 shy of the SC single-game record of 268, set by Bill Pacitto versus AIC in 1987. Sharpe was named this week’s Empire 8 Co-Offensive Player of the Week. FB Andre Clayton (Manchester, Conn.) rushed for 98 yards and 3 more TDs (of 3, 13, and 1 yard). SC’s 59 points were the most scored in a single game since it scored 63 in a 63-32 win over Norwich in 2003. As a team, SC rushed for 542 yards, just 54 shy of the school-record of 596 versus William Paterson in 1996.
SC’s Defense: DB Luke Maciarello (Stillwater, N.Y.) recorded a school-record-tying 3 interceptions ... He becomes the 7th to intercept 3 in a game, the first since Jesse Baker did so against Montclair State on Nov. 8, 2003. Macariello was named this week’s Empire 8 Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 27th season as a head football coach in the fall of 2008. He enters his 25th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 24 years (1984 through 2007, inclusive), he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater.
