



Babson Park, MA, November 11, 2005- Springfield College sophomore Alyssa Muething (Plainsboro, NJ) and senior Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, NY) have been selected to the 2005 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women’s Volleyball Academic All-Conference Team.
Muething, a graduate of Rutgers Prep, leads the team with an impressive 3.71 grade-point-average (GPA) as an athletic training major. In 26 matches this season, the sophomore from Plainsboro, NJ, tallied 14 service aces.
Reves, an Orchard Park High School alum, has accumulated a 3.51 cumulative GPA through the fall of her senior year. The sports management major finished the year ranked fifth in the NEWMAC in kills per game (3.63) and sixth in overall hitting percentage (.245). She has also accrued an impressive career total of 1,604 kills, good for second on SC’s all-time list.


Moira Long will enter her first season as head women's volleyball coach in the fall of 2011. With over 300 victories as a Division III women's volleyball coach, Long will continue Springfield's proud tradition as one of the top programs in the country.
