Women's Volleyball Ranked 10th in Latest NEWVA Coaches Poll
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – October 12, 2007 – The Springfield College women's volleyball team is ranked tenth in New England according to the latest New England Women's Volleyball Association Coaches Poll that was released on October 7, 2007.Under the direction of head coach Joel Dearing, the Pride is 18-6 on the season. Against teams in the New England region, Dearing's squad has rattled off a record of 17-6. Springfield is currently ranked 10th out of a 15-team poll. There are four New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) schools represented in the poll, including MIT (No.1), Wellesley (No. 5) and Coast Guard (No. 12).
The Pride looks to improve its record on Tuesday, October 16 when it plays host to conference-foe Mount Holyoke. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.

Head Coach Joel Dearing
Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
