

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 25, 2006 - Springfield College senior All-American Taylor Brown (Portsmouth, R.I.) has been named the Pilgrim Lacrosse League’s Player of the Week in an announcement made on Monday afternoon, April 24th.
Brown, a graduate of Governor Dummer Academy, scored 11 goals and assisted on seven other scores in a 3-0 week for the Pride. In a 15-6 win at home against MIT (Apr. 22), Brown led all scorers with four goals and three assists for seven points. Earlier in the week, in a home non-conference win against Amherst College (Apr. 20), the senior added a hat trick and two assists for five total points of offense. This season, Brown leads the team with 30 goals and nine assists in 13 games.
In the Pilgrim League ranks, Brown is currently tied for fourth in goals score (30), tied for fifth in goals per game (2.31), tied for sixth in points (39), and tied for ninth in points per game (3.0).
SC (9-4, 5-1 Pilgrim League) is in the midst of a four-game winning streak, as the Pride has run off six win in its past seven contests. SC will next host Pilgrim Lacrosse League foe, Lasell College, on Wednesday evening, April 26th, in a 7:00 p.m. start at Benedum Field.
Keith Bugbee enters his 26th season as head men's lacrosse coach at Springfield College in 2008. Under his direction, the Pride is one of the top programs in New England. Bugbee's coaching record stands at an impressive 267-126 (.679 winning percentage). Read more.
