Steph Colella has been chosen Springfield College's Female Maroon Club Athlete of the Week (Feb. 25) after being named All-New England over the weekend for her efforts at the Division III New England Track & Field Championships.
A native of North Reading, Mass., Colella was one of two members of the Pride to record a first place finish in an event over the weekend. Colella won the pentathlon as she scored a personal best of 2,913 points in the five events combined. She finished 30 points in front of the second place finisher.
She went on to pick up All-New England honors for placing in the top eight of the competition and was a key component to the Pride's fourth-place overall finish in the meet. Some 33 teams competed in the meet, with 24 actually scoring.
The sophomore scored 10 of the Pride's 76 points in the meet.
