Uxbridge, Mass.-October 10, 2007-- The Springfield College men's golf team continued its hot streak as it placed second in the 2007 Bison Invitational hosted by Nichols College on Wednesday at Blissful Meadows Golf Club in Uxbridge, Mass.
Bryant University won the event as it carded a 305 while Springfield was second with a 313. Nichols took third with a 314 while Tufts and Brandeis rounded out the top five with scores of 318 and 324, respectively.
The Pride finished third over the weekened at the ECAC Division III New England Championships in Chicopee, Mass.
Michael LaJoie (Enfield, Conn.) tied for fourth on the day as he fired a 76 on the par 73 on the 6,588 yard course. Overall, Bryant, and Springfield placed four in the top 20 on the afternoon. Greg Levings (Averill Park, N.Y. finished right behind LaJoie with a 77, good enough for a sixth-place tie. Kyle Hicks (Enfield, Conn.) and Aaron Simons (Enfield, Conn.) both finished tied for 16th with a round of 80 while Craig DiFranco (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished tied for 28th with an 84.
The Pride hit the links again on October 16 at the Shattuck Invitational in Jaffrey, N.H.
