

WEST POINT, N.Y., March 5, 2006 - Springfield College senior Andrew Malaby (West Warwick, R.I.) finished second in the rings (9.350) and third on the floor exercise (8.500), but it was the No. 16 Pride which fell at 11th-ranked Army this afternoon, 204.100-194.350, in SC's final dual-meet of the 2006 season.
The Pride falls to 4-7 overall on the season despite compiling a season-best point total of 194.350 as it will next host the 2006 New England Men's Gymnastics Invitational Championships on Sunday afternoon, March 12, in a 1:00 p.m. start. The Black Knights improved their overall record to 7-3 on the season.
SC sophomore Matthew Davis (Southboro, Mass.) picked up a second-place finish on the pommel horse, finishing with a team-best score of 8.400.
After hosting the New England Championships, qualified members of the Pride will compete in the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Oklahoma from Thursday, April 6, to Saturday, April 8, and then the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships, hosted by Cornell from Thursday, April 13, to Saturday, April 15.
Entering his 27th season as head coach, Dr. Steve Posner is recognized as one of the most outstanding gymnastics coaches in the East. Posner, who has coached 128 All-Americans and 17 National Champions, led the Pride to another successful season in 2008. Read more.
