



Springfield vs. Bowdoin Box Score
BEVERLY, Mass. -- September 8, 2007 -- Paced behind a pair of outstanding performances from freshman Bethany Stosz the Springfield College women's volleyball team opened won a pair of games in the first day of the Endicott Invitational.
The Pride topped Salve Regina in three games by the scores of 30-21, 30-17, 30-22 before topping Bowdoin in a thrilling five-game match by the scores of 20-30, 31-29, 25-30, 30-23, 16-14. The Pride trailed Bowdoin, 12-6, in the fifth and deciding game before rallying to a victory.
In the victory over Salve Regina, Heidi Yohe recorded a team-best 10 kills while Stosz and Lindsay Marone each tallied eight kills. Jessica Baldwin played outstanding defense en route to 18 digs in the three-game victory.
In the come-from-behind thiller over Bowdoin, Stosz led the way with 15 kills while Baldwin was once again stellar, this time collecting 21 digs. Stosz solo block on Bowdoin's match point proved to be the difference and the Pride rallied back to take the fifth game by a 16-14 decision.


Moira Long will enter her first season as head women's volleyball coach in the fall of 2011. With over 300 victories as a Division III women's volleyball coach, Long will continue Springfield's proud tradition as one of the top programs in the country.
