

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 17, 2007- Springfield College sophomore Jake Beebe (Sudbury, Mass.) has been named the Pilgrim Lacrosse League's Player of the Week in an announcement made Monday, April 16th.
Beebe, a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, scored seven goals and assisted on five other scores in a 2-1 week for the Pride. Beebe scored a team-best four times in a loss to Bowdoin College on Tuesday, and then scored three goals to go along with five assists in a Pilgrim League victory over Babson on Saturday. For the season, Beebe leads the squad with 17 goals and 19 assists, giving him a total of 36 points thus far.
In the Pilgrim League ranks, Beebe currently leads the conference in assists (19), and overall points (36), and is tied for fourth in goals (17).
SC (5-7, 5-0 Pilgrim League), currently on a two-game winning streak and winners of five of its last seven matches, looks to continue this success with the help of Beebe. SC will play its league rival Wednesday the 18th at Golden Bear Stadium on the campus of Western New England College for the number one spot in the Pilgrim League.
