Wrestling Finishes 23rd At NCAA Championships
Complete ResultsDUBUQUE, Iowa - Springfield College freshman Mike Gaeta (Manalapan, N.J.) finished fifth in the 141-pound division to earn All-Amerca honors and lead the Pride to 23rd place at the NCAA Division III Championships in Dubuque, Iowa, Saturday.
Gaeta, who entered the meet ranked eighth at 141 lbs. in the latest Division III rankings, won five matches during the two-day event. He defeated seventh seeded Jeff Patzke from Luther College in the fifth-place match on Saturday with a 12-6 decision.
SC senior Tom Medonis (Wethersfield, Conn.) and junior Brian Viglione (Chelmsford, Mass.) also competed at the championships in the 197- and 174-pound weight classes, respectively.

Head Coach Daryl Arroyo
Former Springfield College All-American Daryl Arroyo will be entering his 19th season as the head wrestling coach at his alma mater in 2008-09. Under his tutelage, the Springfield College wrestling program has posted a 265-141-6 overall dual-meet record, good for an outstanding .650 winning percentage.
