SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 2, 2008) – The Springfield College men's swimming and diving posted a 128-96 victory over New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Babson on Saturday afternoon.

Springfield opened up the meet by taking first in the 200 medley relay as Scott Teti, Ryan Mackstutis, Greg Pearsall, and Michael DeMellia touched first in 1:43.76. Matt Manoni followed that victory with a first-place of his own in the 1000 free in a time of 10:34.69.

Roy Burch was victorious in both the 100 butterfly (56.71) and the 200 freestyle (1:50.08) on the afternoon while teammate Andrew Blakesley picked up victories in both the 100 freestyle (50.28) and the 50 freestyle (22.69).

Nicholas DiGiacomo claimed first place in the 200 IM in 2:12.29 while Justin Zook won the 500 free in 4:56.57.

On the diving boards, Brian Sobol placed second on the one-meter board (273.00) and recorded the highest score of the afternoon on the three-meter board with a 297.35.

The Pride return to action on Saturday afternoon when it travels to take on Amherst.
