Women's Soccer Plays Brandeis To A 2-2 Draw

WALTHAM, Mass., September 17, 2005 – Springfield College sophomore forward
Christine Turbitt (East Providence, R.I.) scored her fourth goal of the season this afternoon (Sept. 17) as the Pride played non-conference foe, Brandeis University to a 2-2 tie at Gordon Field in Waltham, Mass.
Turbitt’s goal came in the 28th minute off a feed from senior captain
Courtney Goetz (Flemington, N.J.) to the tie game up at one apiece for SC (3-1-2). The sophomore has scored four goals in the Pride's past three matches.
Brandeis (3-1-1) re-gained the lead in the 72nd minute when junior forward Lisa Kaplin scored her second goal of the contest, but the Pride would quickly respond. Just five minutes later, in the 77th minute, freshman midfielder
Lauren Peltier (Agawam, Mass.) equalized the game off an assist from sophomore forward

Sue Jenney (Agawam, Mass.) was credited with 12 saves for the Pride, including a spectacular stop with just ten seconds left in double overtime.
The women’s soccer squad will travel to Amherst College on Tuesday, September 20, for a 4:30 p.m. start.
