Men's Gymnastics Fifth At ECAC Championships
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 29, 2003-- Springfield College freshman
Ted Brown (Westfield, N.J.) was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Year in men's gymnastics, and the Pride placed fifth overall at conference championship.
SC, which scored 200.550 points, held off Navy (200.400) for fifth place. The Pride also outscored Southern Connecticut and James Madison. Temple won the ECAC championship.
Brown placed second on the pommel horse (9.25). SC junior
Tim Goetz (South Plainfield, N.J.) finished seventh on the parallel bars (8.1), and
James Nixon (Somerset, N.J.) tied for sixth on the still rings (8.95).

Entering his 30th season as head men's gymnastics coach, Dr. Steve Posner is recognized as one of the most outstanding gymnastics coaches in the East.
