Alexandra Ploenes has been chosen Springfield College's Female Maroon Club Athlete of the Week (Feb.4 ) after she led the women's gymnastics team to a victory at Ithaca College on Saturday afternoon.
A native of Medina, Ohio, Ploenes was a key reason why the Pride picked up the 182.5500-181.6750 victory over the host Ithaca Bombers on Saturday afternoon.
Ploenes captured the all-around title with a score of 37.175 for the meet. The sophomore placed first on the balance beam with a 9.525 and registered a second-place finish in the floor exercise with a 9.500. She also finished fourth on the bars with a mark of 9.075 and placed 10th on the vault with a 9.075.
The Pride return to action on Saturday when it hosts Rhode Island College.
