SC's New All-Time Goals Leader, Holly Carmody, Named NEWMAC Co-Player of the Week

On Saturday afternoon (Apr. 15), senior Holly Carmody became SC's all-time leader in goals scored, passing former Pride athlete Danica Ansardy ('02), who had scored 143 goals in her four-year career.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 18, 2006 – Springfield College senior midfielder Holly Carmody (Wayland, Mass.) has been named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Co-Player of the Week in women’s lacrosse in an announcement made on Monday afternoon, April 17th.

Carmody, a graduate of Wayland High School, scored 12 goals and assisted on four other scores for a total of 16 points of offense in a 3-0 week for the Pride. On Saturday (April 15), Carmody tallied nine goals and one assist (10 points) in a 19-6 win at Babson College. In doing so, Carmody became the all-time leader at SC in career goals.

The senior midfielder, who is already first all-time at SC in career points (203), has now accumulated a total of 145 scores in her illustrious career. Carmody is also currently second on the list in career assists, with 58, as she is still 22 assists away from the all-time leader (Lindsay Reiniger, '03).

The Pride (8-4, 5-0 NEWMAC) has now won four consecutive games and hopes to keep the current streak alive as they visit NEWMAC foe, Mount Holyoke College, on Saturday, April 22nd in a 1:00 p.m. start.
