Adam Feit Named to AFCA Division III All-America First Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., (December 11, 2006)--Senior offensive guard Adam Feit of the Springfield College football team earlier today was named to the 2006 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III All-America Team.

Feit, a quad-captain for the Pride this season, was a key blocker for the offensive line which helped SC to lead the country (Division III) in rushing with 374.7 yards per game. The 374.7 yards were far better than the nation’s #2-ranked rushing offense (Mount Union).

Springfield ended the season with a 10-2 record and an Empire 8 regular-season championship, thus, earning a spot in the NCAA Division III playoffs. SC's season ended in the second round of the tournament. The Pride lost a hard-fought game to St. John Fisher College (27-21).

Feit, a Chicopee, Mass. native, has earned his share of awards thus far this season. The Division III AFCA All-America Team is just one of many. On Saturday, December 16th Feit will play in the last collegiate football game of his career. Several weeks ago, he accepted an invitation to play in the Aztec Bowl, a Division III all-star game, in Aguscalientes, Mexico.

Recently, Feit was also named to the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team, d3football.com All-East Region First Team, and the New England Football Writers All-New England First team. During the season Feit was also one of five players selected to the d3football.com National Team of the Week following SC's (41-34) victory over Alfred, during which SC rushed for 415 yards.

This upcoming May, Feit will graduate from Springfield College with a major in Applied Exercise Science. Since being at SC, Feit has made the Dean's List, and this past summer did an internship at the U.S.Olympic Training Center. Once out of Springfield College, Feit hopes to become a strength & conditioning coach and/or a college professor.
