SPRINGFIELD, Mass (September 23, 2007) - The Springfield College men's golf team finished in 17th place over the weekend at the Williams Invitational held at Taconic Golf Club.
As a team, the Pride finished 17th of 19 teams and finished with a combined score of 658 strokes. The host, Williams College, came in second with a combined 607 strokes and was bested only by Skidmore who had 590 strokes.
The men were once again led by junior Greg Levings (Averill Park, N.Y.) who tied for 19th overall with a combined score of 152 strokes (74, 78). Levings was the only member of the Pride to stay under the 80 stroke mark for a round.
Others who competed for the Pride were junior Mike LaJoie (Enfield, Conn.) who finished tied for 76th with a combined score of 168 strokes (79, 89), junior Kyle Hicks (Enfield, Conn.) who also finished tied for 76th with a combined score of 168 strokes (83, 85), freshman Junior Balogun (Springfield, Mass.) who finished tied for 91st with a combined score of 175 strokes (90, 85), and junior Bryan Anderson (Enfield Conn.) who finished 94th with a combined score of 176 strokes (92, 84).
The Pride returns to the course on October 6th and 7th for the ECAC Division III Championships in Chicopee, Mass.
